swimming.

okay guys, seriously, swimming is the best kind of exercise you could possibly do.

it’s resistance training and cardio at the same time. it’s absolutely perfect. and you’re using your own body as resistance. as apposed to lifting weights.

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much I want to encourage all of you to get into swimming because it is so good for you.

just my two cents for the day. :)

zumba. zumba. zumba.

so I went to a new zumba class today. I went to one about six months ago with my mom and we thought the teacher was a little crazy so we never went back. well, I found out that there was a different teacher at a different time, later on in the day.

so I decided (when I was making my new exercise plan) that I was going to start going again, and see if I liked the teacher.

it’s on tuesdays and thursdays from 6:35 to 7:35.

so I did some treadmill, some elliptical, then some strength training before it was time to go zumba.

the class was so much fun! like, I can’t even explain how much fun it was. it was a large group of people of all shapes, sizes, and ages, and the music was loud and fun. it was a mixture of latin pop music and american pop music.

for the most part I kept my energy up high and moved around a lot, but there were some times when I dragged a little bit because I was so tired. working out that intense for that long may be easier for some people, but there were a few songs that I just did the basic moves and didn’t really jump around.

but nevertheless, it was a lot of fun and I’m definitely going to start going on tuesdays and thursdays until my college classes start (26th of september), so that gives me a good seven weeks until I have to stop going.

but I highly recommend it to anybody if they ever get a chance to do it - take the opportunity! you’ll enjoy yourself. if you go to a gym and they have classes there, then take them. it’s so much fun.
